MK Dons celebrate Women’s inclusion and support of #HerGameToo

6 March 2023

As part of the EFL Together Month, MK Dons will be raising awareness of female participation in football.

Throughout this week, the Club will celebrate the women who work for MK Dons and have played a pivotal part in bringing football to the city of Milton Keynes.

Then, on International Women’s Day, MK Dons Women’s players will be joining MK Dons Sport and Education staff at a local school to take part in some football-skills sessions.

Ahead of MK Dons’ fixture with Cambridge United this weekend, the teams will be welcomed on to the pitch by local girls’ grassroots team, MK Royals, as they ‘takeover’ Stadium MK for the matchday.

The game itself, which takes place on Saturday 11 March at Stadium MK, will also see MK Dons takeover the Marshall Arena pre match for Family Fun Day. There will be the opportunity to meet some of the MK Dons Women’s players and take part in a skills session ahead of kick-off.

What’s more, MK Dons will also raise awareness for the #HerGameToo campaign, through the big screens and pre-match activity on Saturday. In 2021, MK Dons partnered with the #HerGameToo campaign, which aims to highlight and combat sexist abuse in football.

Her Game Too was founded by 12 passionate female football fans, with the aim of fostering an ethos in football in which women are welcomed and respected equally. They aim to campaign against sexism in football and to continue to fight against online abuse targeted at female football supporters.
