Finn “ecstatic” after putting pen to paper on contract

Young defender can’t wait to get going after signing his first professional deal…

Having been with MK Dons for just over 10-years, Finn Tapp put pen to paper on his first professional contract with the Club on Thursday.

Tapp has played an important role in helping the Under-18s reach the Fourth Round of the FA Youth Cup and top their Youth Alliance League, while he’s also been a regular for the Under-23s.

Speaking to iFollow MK Dons immediately after signing on the dotted line, Tapp expressed his delight having committed his future to a Club that holds a special place in his heart.

“I’m ecstatic really, after being with the Club for 10 years to finally put pen to paper and sign a contact – I couldn’t be happier.

“I can remember watching MK Dons at the National Hockey Stadium and as an Under-8 I started training with the Club, I’ve been here for most of the life so MK Dons has a special place in my heart.”

The 18-year-old has slotted seamlessly into the heart of Edu Rubio’s Under-23s defence and despite his young ages – he hasn’t looked out of place.

“I think playing against older players in the Under-23s has helped me, you gain experience playing against different individuals and teams.

“It’s been a great season, the boys have made it a good year for me to win that Youth Alliance League, but to do well for the Under-23s is also pleasing.”

Tapp concluded the interview with a brief description of his style of play as the commanding central defender aims to continue improving at Stadium MK.

“I’m going to be putting in the hard work to come back in pre-season and make sure I’m ready and see what part I can play for the team.

“I’m a physical athletic centre back, I like to get forward whenever possible but my biggest part is trying to stop the other team scoring.”
