Hodson’s NI edge closer

8 September 2015

Lee Hodson’s Northern Ireland need just two points from their final group games to secure Euro 2016 qualification after they drew 1-1 with Hungary on Monday evening.

The Green and White Army could have booked their place at their first major tournament in 30 years with a win but conceded first to a Richard Guzmics goal.

Chris Baird was then sent off for the hosts, who would salvage an important point courtesy of Kyle Lafferty’s 93rd minute strike.

Northern Ireland face Greece and Finland in their final two qualifiers.
