Will Grigg says the 2014/15 season was the best of his career so far.
The on-loan Brentford frontman scored an impressive 22 goals as he helped fire the Dons to promotion to the Sky Bet Championship.
"I’ve absolutely loved it," he told MK Dons Player. "It’s definitely the best season of my career so far. Promotion last year at Brentford was great but this one beats it."
The men from MK1 needed to better Preston North End’s on the final day to finish in the top two – and they did it in style with Grigg getting on the scoresheet with a classy header in a 5-1 win over Yeovil Town, while PNE lost 1-0 at Colchester United.
He said: "Unbelievable. The odds were against us but the belief was there from the beginning. We knew that if we did our bit, we would have a chance and so it proved.
"Being 4-0 up at half-time, we had pretty much done the job by the break, but then you are hoping and praying. The fans let us know what was going on though!
"I came off with 20 minutes left and it was more nerve-wracking on the bench than it was on the pitch!"
