Robinson early last month called for more from Powell, who has responded with a number of exciting displays, most notably in the 3-1 win at Notts County and last weekend’s 2-1 success over Coventry City.
“I thought Powelly was excellent for us on Saturday,” Robinson told the press.

“I was very public in my criticism of him not too long ago, so I have to be very open in my praise.

“He’s worked hard to get back in and he’s been a big plus for us.”

The win at Sixfields – the Dons’ fifth straight away success - prompted the press to ask Robinson whether he would prefer to be on the road again on Saturday, but the 33-year-old’s reply was unanimous. 

He said: “I want to play here in front of our fans and they deserve a win.

“They’ve still come out in their thousands and supported their team, and they’re still singing when we’ve beaten.”
