MK Dons will travel to Newport County in Round One of the EFL Cup.
Karl Robinson’s side will take on the Sky Bet League 2 Exiles at Rodney Parade during the week commencing 8th August. A confirmed date, as well as kick-off time and ticket details, will be confirmed in due course.
This will be the first time both sides have faced each other before – they were paired together during a live draw on the EFL Cup’s official Facebook page on Wednesday lunchtime.
The men from MK1 have won their last six Round One ties in the EFL Cup, including last season’s 2-1 triumph over Leyton Orient.
The furthest the Dons have reached in the competition is Round Four, which they achieved in the 2014/15 season – the same campaign they defeated four-time winners Manchester United 4-0 in a memorable evening at Stadium MK.
