Robbie Muirhead offered fans a glimpse at his potential during the final month of 2016/17, scoring two goals in the final seven games, including a stunning Goal of the Season contender against Gillingham.

The Scotsman began his career with Kilmarnock and scored four times in 44 appearances for the Ayrshire club. As well as playing regularly for Killie, Muirhead earned four international caps for Scotland Under-19s, scoring twice – one of those being a sensational 40-yard strike against Holland which was shortlisted for Goal of the Year by UEFA.

In January 2015, Dundee United signed the then 18-year-old for a reported £150,000. He scored two goals during his time at Tannadice Park while also spending time on loan at Partick Thistle.

At the end of the 2015/16 season, Muirhead signed a one-year deal with Heart of Midlothian, who were then managed by now-Dons boss Robbie Neilson. He quickly established himself as a key member of the Hearts side during the first half of this season.

Muirhead clearly impressed as Neilson opted to bring him to Stadium MK in January 2017. The Dons manager will be hoping to see similar standout showings from his new forward in 2017/18.
