A look back on the career of Connor Lemonheigh-Evans so far…

After acquiring the first summer signing, mkdons.com takes a look through the career of Connor Lemonheigh-Evans.

The midfielder’s footballing journey began at Bristol City where he worked his way through the youth ranks before signing his first senior professional contract at the Club in May 2016.

Lemonheigh-Evans made his professional debut in 2017 during a temporary move to Bath City. When Connor returned to his parent Club, he was awarded with his first sighting as a Robin when he featured in a FA Cup clash against Watford.

At 21-years-old, after making his senior career and Bristol City debut, the versatile attacker earned himself a second loan move, which helped further his development as a young player.

In 2018, the Welshman joined up with National League outfit Torquay United. Unfortunately, during his short stint there within the 2017/18 campaign, Torquay suffered relegation.

Despite the Club’s shortcomings, Lemonheigh-Evans returned on second loan deal which would initially see him support the charge for a return to the National League until January.

However, playing an important part in 11 of Torquay’s 13-game unbeaten streak to start the season, Connor extended his contract until the conclusion of the campaign.

Lemonhiegh-Evans featured in all but two league games, which saw a remarkable run of results for the Devon based side, who suffered just five defeats in their push for promotion.

Connor alongside Torquay United were crowned champions of National League South in 2019 with an impressive ten-point deficit between them and second.

Fresh after Torquay’s triumph as they returned to the National League, the Bristol City player put pen to paper for a third consecutive loan deal before making this a permanent move a year later.

This saw Connor’s first-ever permanent move, signing a two-year deal at a familiar place in Plainmoor.

Lemonheigh-Evans has also had the honour to represent his international side at an Under-21s level, scoring two goals in three games for the Young Dragons.

The former Robin had an impressive season the year he joined Torquay on a permanent basis not only earning the Club’s Player of the Year award but also being recognised in the National league Team of the Year.

In June 2022, Lemonheigh-Evans said goodbye to Torquay having represented United the previous four years of his career, the attacker joined the newly promoted Sky Bet League Two team Stockport County on a two-year deal.

The Welshman made a return to the National League whilst undergoing his first season at Edgley Park, making a move to the league-leaders Notts County in February 2023.

A valuable experience for Connor, who in his return to Stockport a month later, scored three goals in eight matches to conclude the 2022/23 season.

At the beginning of the most-recent campaign, Lemonheigh-Evans saw the fifth loan move of his career. Signing temporary terms at AFC Wimbledon in September 2023 whilst also scoring against Walsall within the same month.

Connor returned to Stockport County in a final push for the league title and the team were successful in their efforts.

Lemonheigh-Evans had accomplished the second promotion of his footballing career as Stockport were crowned as the Sky Bet League Two champions.

Following the expiration of Connor’s contract at Edgeley Park, the Welsh attacker confirmed his future and put pen to paper at Stadium MK.

The former Sky Bet League Two champion now looks ahead to his next chapter with the Dons.
