MK Dons are delighted to announce Dean Lewington has signed a one-year contract extension.

The 39-year-old has featured 24 times this season and won League Two Player of the Month in December for his instrumental performances in four back-to-back wins.

Earlier this season Lewington made history by surpassing John Trollope’s long-standing record for Swindon Town for the most league appearances for a single club and will now remain with MK Dons into a 21st season.

The skipper, who has made an incredible 906 appearances, has put pen to paper on a new deal to remain at Stadium MK and extend an association with MK Dons which dates back to the Club’s formation in 2004.

A member of the inaugural MK Dons side back in 2004/05, Lewington has now featured in around 84% of all matches the Club has ever played, winning three promotions as well as the EFL Trophy.

He has remained captain since 2008 and this year was awarded Sports Person of the Year by the Mayor of Milton Keynes as well as winning the Chairman's Award at the Club's annual awards night.
