Phoenix Scholtz was awarded with a Player of the Match accolade in Northern Ireland Under-19s’ international friendly against Italy.
MK Dons’ second-year scholar was called up the Northern Ireland Under-19s squad earlier this week in preparation for their trip to Southern Europe.
The match ended 3-2 in favour of Italy, though Scholtz MK was rewarded for his performance with the Player of the Match honour.
Northern Ireland’s friendly against Italy was played in preparation for the Under-19s’ Invitational Tournament, which will be hosted in Northern Ireland in early November.
Portugal, Poland and Hungary are set to be the competitors and, no doubt, Scholtz will look to return and support his national team in the tournament.
