MK Dons have been confirmed of a place in the knockout stages of the EFL Trophy.
Following Chelsea Under-21s’ penalty shoot-out triumph over Northampton Town on Tuesday evening, Graham Alexander’s men are certain of a top-two finish in Southern Group F and will therefore progress to Round Two of the competition.
The Dons, who have now reached the knockout stages in each of the last five seasons, have picked up six points from their opening two EFL Trophy matches, following victories over Chelsea Under-21s and Oxford United.
