Don Deal: Zoe Creaney becomes a Don

4 September 2023

MK Dons Women have completed the signing of Solihull Moors captain Zoe Creaney.

Creaney, 27, joins the club on a permanent deal following her departure from Solihull Moors last month.

The accomplished defender, who operated predominantly as a midfielder last season, has previously played for Coventry United before spending 4 years with Solihull Moors in the FA WNL - Division One Midlands.

Creaney had the following to say, upon her switch to Stadium MK: “I am really excited to join such a big club. From the very first training session, everyone welcomed me, and it felt right to be here. I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead.”

The former Moors captain made over 60 appearances with the club, and collected the FA WNL Division One Midlands Player of the Year Award in May – following an outstanding season scoring seven goals, and earning 10 Opposition Player of the Match Awards in 28 appearances.

Manager, Charlie Bill was delighted to confirm the signing of Creaney: “We are so pleased to get Zoe through the door. She’s a player who we have wanted in our group all summer - A top-quality centre back who shows such composure on the ball.”

“Having made such an impact at Solihull the previous four-years, I know she can use her leadership qualities to help drive this group to become stronger, and build on the positive start to the season so far.

"I have no doubt she will do this both on & off the pitch and become a real fan’s favourite.”

Creaney becomes available for selection ahead of the next league fixture, away to London Bees this coming Wednesday.
