Harvie: Fans want action

MK Dons defender Daniel Harvie shared his thoughts ahead of the Tuesday evening Bradford City clash…

Daniel Harvie spoke to the press and shared his thoughts ahead of MK Dons’ Sky Bet League Two mid-week fixture against Bradford City.

Bradford currently find themselves outside of the top ten teams within the league table having not won a game throughout the month of September. This soon led to the departure of the former Welsh boss, Mark Hughes.

Kevin McDonald has taken interim charge of the Bantams and has since recorded a three-game unbeaten run ahead of Tuesday evening’s match.

MK Dons will seek to destroy their winless run as Mike Williamson prepares to take charge of his first home game at Stadium MK. When asked about the recent impact of turnover in staff, Harvie replied “It’s been a quick turnaround, but the morale is still there, and it has been good so far.

“We have only had a couple of training sessions with the new Gaffer (Mike Williamson) ahead of Saturday’s game against Accrington Stanley. And now, we have one more before the next match.

“even though we've been through a sticky patch, I think we played some really good football on Saturday, and created some good chances but it didn't go our way.”

The defender shared his final thoughts on Williamson and the new coaching staff by saying “It's tough on the coaching staff and the players because he's trying to get his point across to us. We're all good players, we know we can take stuff on but the more games we play under the new gaffer, the better we'll become.”

Although the number 21 recognises that ‘no game is a gimme in football’ he also enforced the following message “We have to start winning, that’s the bottom line.”

The Scotsman continued “I said it after the Wrexham game – the fans have been through a lot over the last year, and they want action on the pitch, not just words from us.

“We have to do that. We have to go out there, give 100 per cent and win those games coming up,”
