Sullay starts in Sao Tomé AFCON qualifier

Sullay Kaikai faced Sao Tomé in Sierre Leone’s qualifying match…

23 March 2023

MK Dons player Sullay Kaikai was selected in Sierre Leone’s staring XI to face Sao Tomé and Principe in the first of two African Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures.

Kaikai, who recently joined up with the Leone Stars earlier in the week following his winner against Accrington Stanley, was selected in John Kesiter’s starting line-up.

The MK Dons player featured for a total of 67 minutes before he was substituted off in place for Abu Komeh Musa, who scored the second equaliser in a 2-2 draw.

This result has unchanged Sierre Leone’s third-place placement within their qualifying group, Nigeria and Guinea-Bissau still currently occupy the top two spots.

On Sunday, Sullay Kaikai along with the Leone Starts will look to claim victory in their second consecutive fixture against Sao Tomé and Principe in the hope that three points could see them rise above Guinea-Bissau within Group A.
