John Bitting’s boys search for their first Merit League Two victory…

23 March 2023

MK Dons Under-18s will welcome Cheltenham Town to Woughton on the Green Playing Fields in their first home EFL Youth Alliance Merit League Two match.

Last weekend saw the young Dons’ first fixture within the Merit League Two division following their placement in the EFL Youth Alliance Southeast table.

John Bitting’s boys travelled to Bristol Rovers and a 3-1 defeat saw them leave empty handed at the conclusion of their opening game. This time around, the Dons will look to bounce-back as they search for their first result within the division.

This match is scheduled to take place on Mar 25 at Milton Keynes Woughton on the Green Playing Fields, Newport Road, MK6 3EA. 11:00am Kick-off. Entry to this tie is FREE for all spectators.

THE OPPOSITION

The Robins currently place eighth within the ten-team table on three points, which have been accumulated from a triplet of draws out of their four fixtures played.

Cheltenham have scored in all but one of their matches. Thus far, the travelling team’s only defeat has been on the road to the hands of Leyton Orient.

LAST TIME OUT

MK Dons were dealt with a 3-1 loss against Bristol Rovers in their first Merit League Two clash. Callum Tripp’s goal before the interval breathed a moment of hope into John Bitting’s boys, but ultimately the score-line was too great to match.

Returning home, the Dons will look to put their recent shortcomings behind them as they seek to begin their Merit League Two tally.

Cheltenham embarked within the Gloucestershire derby as they travelled to face Forest Green Rovers. Rovers are one position above Saturday’s opponents and that place was sustained following a 2-2 draw at the end of 90 minutes.

This saw back-to-back draws for the Robins, who will look to build upon their recent results as they travel to Milton Keynes.
