Paris Maghoma reflects on scoring his first career league goal in the 1-1 draw with Lincoln City...

Paris Maghoma said he predicted that Tuesday night would bring his first career league goal – sending a text to his brothers on the morning of the game telling them that he would find the net.

Maghoma got off the mark with a 90th-minute effort which earned MK Dons a valuable point at Lincoln City, cancelling out Daniel Mandriou’s early opener and ensuring a 1-1 draw at the LNER Stadium.

The Brentford loanee, speaking after the match, revealed he had a feeling before kick-off that he would be celebrating his first goal in Lincolnshire.

“I messaged my brothers (in the) morning telling them I was going to score, and I said it at the hotel as well and it’s happened - I'm buzzing,” Maghoma said when he met with the media after the final whistle. “I just want to thank God! For me, scoring, it's an unbelievable feeling.

“Nath (Holland) put an excellent ball in, I got across my man, got a little toe on it and I saw it go into the top corner and I went off celebrating. Buzzing, absolutely buzzing!

“For me, scoring in front of the fans was huge too - they were all buzzing, all down at the front cheering. I forgot where I was and went to the wrong side! But I ran back across to give them a bit! And thank you to all the fans who came and supported us.”

Reflecting on the game, and the result, Maghoma added: “It's not the result we wanted but at the end of the day, it's better to have drawn than to have lost.

:We went in at the break and knew that wasn't the real us. We didn't have the fight, desire or determination to win the second balls, to win it back, we were playing too slowly and at half-time we regrouped.

“We talked about what we had to do more, what we had to do better, and we showed it in the second-half. From now, until the end of the season, we'll have to show a lot of fight and a lot of spirit to try and get out of the spot we're in.

“Going into Saturday, we know what to expect from ourselves. That desire, fight and belief, we can't just do that for 45 minutes, we've got to do it for 90 minutes, each and every game to give us the best possible chance.

“I think for us, for me and for the team, we have to keep pushing, keep getting that support from the fans and go get three points in the next game.”
