MK Dons winger called-up for AFCON qualifiers against Sao Tomé and Principe...

14 March 2023

Sullay Kaikai has been selected in the Sierra Leone squad for their upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Qualification double-header against Sao Tomé and Principe.

Kaikai, who has seven caps for the Leone Stars, will join up with his national team following this weekend’s Sky Bet League One fixture with Accrington Stanley.

Sierra Leone are set to face Sao Tomé and Principe twice on Wednesday 22 March (6pm) and Sunday 26 March (5pm), with both games taking place at the Adrar Stadium in Agadir, Morocco.

The Leone Stars are currently third in their AFCON Qualification Group A, behind Nigeria and Guinea Bissau. The top two from each qualification group will progress through to the Finals, which will be held in Ivory Coast during January and February 2024.

As a result of this call-up, Kaikai will be unavailable for MK Dons’ Sky Bet League One fixture with Morecambe on Saturday 25 March. He is expected back in time for the trip to his former club, Wycombe Wanderers, on Saturday 1 April.
