Cameron Norman is excited to make Stadium MK his new home after becoming Graham Alexander’s second summer signing ahead of the 2023/2024 season.
Norman has accumulated Sky Bet League Two experience whilst representing Walsall and more recently, Newport County. Before his arrival at Stadium MK, the full-back was awarded with Newport’s ‘Player of the Year’ and ‘Player’s Player of the Year’.
He will move to the Dons after the expiration of his contract with the Exiles on June 30 - a ‘really exciting’ opportunity for the 27-year-old defender, who ‘can’t wait to get out at Stadium MK and play’.
“I’m really glad to get this deal done,” he told iFollow MK Dons after confirming his switch to Stadium MK. It’s been in the pipeline for a couple of weeks so I’m glad to be here at the stadium and get it all signed off.”
Norman added: “I had a few offers and conversations, but I spoke to the Manager (Graham Alexander) and once he ran me through the goals and ambitions it was a conversation that I couldn’t necessarily get out of my head.
“The conversation we had put me in a real positive mindset, and I believe I’m ready for the goals and ambitions we discussed - it’s something that I want to achieve. I think everybody here and everybody involved in this season is going to feel the same way.
“There’s a clear goal, a clear objective and I think if everybody is on the same wavelength then we set our standards. There’s going to be hard times, there’s going to be good times, but as long as we stick together and put the hard work in then I look forward to the season ahead.
“I’m really excited to have got this done and to be here now.”
While speaking to iFollow MK Dons, the new Dons full-back, who lead League Two for fouls won last season, was then questioned on his attributes as a player, responding: “I’m definitely going to bring a good deal of attacking intent.
“I know I play within the defensive line essentially, but I pride myself on being involved in the attacking play. I like to get forward, goals, assists, all of them type of things.
“I’ll be up and down the pitch so expect to not see me stop for 90 minutes, that’s for sure. I leave everything out there, every game.
“I’m ready to fight for every win and every point we’re going to get this season, that’s the exact sort of player that you’re going to see.”
Finally, the second summer signing looked ahead to the start of his MK Dons journey, saying: “It’s not long now until we’re back out there.
“I’m really excited to get going, really excited to get in here and meet a bunch of the lads within the first few days.
“I’m looking forward to calling Stadium MK my new home, and to be honest I just can’t wait to get out there and play in it.”
