mkdons.com takes a look into the past career of young goalkeeper Nathan Harness before his move to Stadium MK.

Harness’ youth career saw the shot-stopper with four different clubs including West Ham, Ipswich Town, Stevenage and finally Dunstable Town ahead of his first senior move to Charlton Athletic at the age of 19-years old.

Two years following his transfer to the Addicks, Nathan made his full debut at The Valley when he was 21-years of age during an EFL Trophy tie against Crawley Town, which resulted in a 6-1 triumph for the home side.

His league debut followed later that season, Harness was called upon to replace an ill Craig MacGillivray within the final fixture of the 2021/22 campaign.

The youthful ‘keeper between the sticks had previously faced MK Dons two years prior to his Stadium MK signing. Both sides matched within the EFL Trophy Round of 16 as the Dons were unable to penetrate Harness’ goal.

Former Addick, Jonathan Leko crafted a strike that separated the two teams and secured Charlton’s progression within the tournament following a 1-0 win in favour of the London side.

During his time at The Valley, Nathan Harness experienced four separate loan moves. Firstly, Harness progressed within the Isthmian Premier Division league as a Billericay Town player on a month-long loan term.

Welling United, a National League South side was Nathan’s second loan move over a longer six-month period compared to that of his first loan spell.

Nathan then remained within the National League South division as he represented Dulwich Hamlet at the beginning of the 2022/23 campaign. Within the same season, Harness then transferred to Bromley, who compete within the league above (Vanarama National League).

The current 23-year old goalkeeper left Charlton at the conclusion of the recent campaign, following the expiration of his contract at The Valley.

Nathan Harness became a Don ahead of the upcoming season as Graham Alexander completed his third transfer of the summer.
