MK Dons are delighted to announce the appointment of Erbil Bozkurt as the Club’s new Goalkeeper Coach.

Bozkurt arrives at Stadium MK following a spell as Head of Goalkeeping at Wycombe Wanderers and joins Graham Alexander’s coaching team alongside Assistant Head Coach Chris Lucketti.

“I’m really pleased to be here,” Bozkurt said in an exclusive interview with iFollow MK Dons. “I had the opportunity to meet the Gaffer recently to discuss his ideas and plans – it was clear that this is a very exciting opportunity for me.

“It’s been good to come in at the start of pre-season and meet all the staff and the players. Everyone is working hard and there is a lot of excitement ahead of the new season.

“It’s a fresh start for a lot of us, including the goalkeepers. It’s quite unique to have a situation where there are two new goalkeepers and a new goalkeeper coach but I’m excited to get to work and I know, as a unit, we’re looking forward to playing our part this season.”

Bozkurt is a former goalkeeper of Turkish descent, who spent most of his playing days in non-league. He began his coaching career with two of his former sides in Leyton Orient and Boreham Wood, before joining Queens Park Rangers as Goalkeeping Coach in January 2018.

He spent five-and-a-half years with the Sky Bet Championship outfit, progressing from an Under-23s role into the First Team, working under managers such as Mark Warburton, Michael Beale and Neil Critchley.

Bozkurt left Loftus Road in February and moved to South Buckinghamshire to join Gareth Ainsworth’s coaching team at Wycombe Wanderers. He now moves to MK Dons to become part of Graham Alexander’s backroom team at Stadium MK.

Head Coach Graham Alexander: “I’m delighted to welcome Erbs onto our coaching team.

“He was highly recommended by people I respect in the game and, after meeting with him I knew he would be a great addition to our club. I’m sure he’ll improve every goalkeeper we have here.”

MK Dons can also confirm the employment of Lewis Price has come to an end. Everyone at the Football Club would like to send their best wishes to Lewis and thank him for the contribution he made during his time at Stadium MK.
