Tucker: We'll benefit from pre-season work

Defender discusses start to pre-season training...

6 July 2023

Jack Tucker believes MK Dons will benefit from the hard work they are putting in during pre-season.

Under new Head Coach Graham Alexander, the Dons are certainly being put through their paces, with double sessions and gruelling running drills taking place in preparation for the 2023/24 campaign.

Tucker, who is set to enter his second season with the Football Club, knows the fitness work being done, albeit tough, will be worth it come the start of August.

“It has been physically tough as it always is in pre-season,” the centre-back told iFollow MK Dons on a team visit to Wing Kingz in Xscape Milton Keynes.

“It's part and parcel of pre-season. A lot of running goes on and you've got to do that because it's part of football. For me, you just have to embrace it and it also helps you bond with your teammates as well, going through this hard work together.”

Tucker also discussed his early impressions of Graham Alexander and spoke positively about what the new MK Dons Head Coach can bring to Stadium MK.

“We touched base in the summer and put his ideas across straight away, and came across really well. It was a positive for me, and he's only re-emphasised that when we've all come back together.

“We're a week in but already we're getting a clear picture of what he wants from us, which is all you can want really. From what I've seen so far, we're in a good place to go out and do it on the pitch.”
