MK Dons Women produce a 3-3 draw against Peterborough United in their pre-season friendly fixture on Wednesday evening.
Despite the wet conditions, The Dons Women’s pre-season preparations against Peterborough didn’t lack any action throughout the 90 minutes played.
The FAWNL Division One Midlands side hosted the match, and it would be the home side who opened up the scoring 31 minutes following the starting whistle. Just moments later, the Posh would end up doubling their lead before a quick-fire response from Charlie Bill’s Women halved the deficit.
MK Dons trailed as the teams entered the break, but not long after the interval the score-line would be made level once again.
Peterborough restored their advantage on the 70-minute mark. Even though five goals were created, and 20 minutes of play remained, the game didn’t end there.
Ten minutes ahead of the full-time whistle, the travelling team found themselves another equaliser through a composed finish from close-range.
The friendly had resulted in a 3-3 draw, which provided a great contest for both teams, who sought to prepare their players as much as possible for the upcoming season.
The Dons Women now focus on their final three fixtures before the start of their 2023/24 campaign.
