MK Dons are pleased to announce a new appointment within the Sports Science and Medicine Department.

Paul McGrath has joined the Football Club as First Team Fitness Coach, which will allow Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, Tom Bromley, to focus on the individual physical development of our players.

McGrath arrives from Port Vale where he worked as a first-team performance coach, having previously held roles at Portsmouth and Lincoln City after graduating from the University of Lincoln with an MSc in Sports Science.

Bromley, meanwhile, has been with MK Dons since 2012, progressing from a sports science student to working with the first team in numerous roles before establishing himself as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in August 2021.

Performance Director Simon Crampton said: “We are delighted to have Paul on board. He will be responsible for the physical fitness of the squad along with their day-day load management and preparation.

“Paul has quickly gained an excellent reputation; he is well-educated within the sports science domain and he also holds the UEFA A Licence and a teaching qualification, making for a well-rounded practitioner.

“He will work closely alongside Tom Bromley, who has been with the Club for over ten years, originally joining us as a student before developing into a highly-regarded strength and conditioning coach and published researcher. He will now focus his expertise on the individual physical development of our players.

"The combination, we believe, will really enhance our sports science and medicine department and will be of great benefit to our players.”
