mkdons.com details the storylines to follow heading into Saturday's Sky Bet League One fixture with Oxford United at Stadium MK...

Going back-to-back
MK Dons will look to make it successive Sky Bet League One victories this weekend when they welcome Oxford United to Stadium MK.

Mark Jackson’s side returned to winning ways last Saturday with a 2-0 triumph away at Bristol Rovers and will be looking to go back-to-back this weekend for only the second time all season.

The only previous occasion where the Dons have won two league games on the bounce was in December when they followed up their victory at Portsmouth by beating Forest Green Rovers.

Ironically, that first success was a 2-0 result away from home…

A chance to climb
The Dons lifted themselves up from 20th to 19th with their win at Bristol Rovers, moving a point clear of the relegation places in the process.

They have an opportunity this weekend to move even further away from the bottom four while there is also a chance they can climb as many as two places in the Sky Bet League One table.

A victory over Oxford United, coupled with Cheltenham Town and Fleetwood Town failing to win, and Mark Jackson’s side will end the weekend in 17th position – which would be the highest they have been since August.

They would also move to within just four points of their opponents…

Sparking home form
The Dons boast one of the better away records in the division but in order to continue their revival, they will need to transfer that success to Stadium MK.

Without a win at home since Boxing Day, and with only two league victories at Stadium MK all season, Mark Jackson and his side will surely have their focus set on turning that around over the remaining months of the campaign.

The eight Stadium MK fixtures that remain will be crucial in determining the Dons’ season, not least because five of those are against sides in and around them in the Sky Bet League One table.

The first of those five is Oxford United on Saturday…

Visit of a familiar face
Saturday will see Karl Robinson return to Stadium MK for the seventh time as an opposing manager.

Robinson enjoyed over six years in the Stadium MK dugout after being appointed MK Dons manager in May 2010. He managed 346 games, winning 147 of them and led the Dons to the first and only promotion to the Sky Bet Championship.

Since departing in October 2016, Robinson has faced his old club 12 times, with six of those coming at Stadium MK. He has won five, drawn three and lost four of the 12 meetings, with only one defeat to his name in his last five encounters with the Dons.
