Charlie Bill’s Women were delt with their first league defeat within the past two months following a 2-0 loss at the hands of the Gills.
A fixture that the home side will look to improve on as their own missed chances prevented them from troubling the opposition.
An early opener from the travelling team was replicated during the second half, which paid dearly to the Dons, who were unable to capitalise on their creations.
FIRST HALF
Within the first 20 minutes of the match, Gillingham took the lead. The Dons responded to their set-back, however, a stubborn Gills defence prevented Charlie Bill’s side from levelling the game once more. 0-1
A promising display in the closing stages of the first 45 minutes looked to inspire MK Dons, who had an opportunity to claw their way back into the points within the second stage of the clash. 
SECOND HALF
Alas, the Dons’ efforts were snubbed as they were met by a fortress of bodies in every advance that they made to penetrate the goalmouth. This frustration was only then furthered once the home side conceded a second.
Gillingham had taken the few opportunities they crafted. This time, the visitors had broken away from their adversary, which granted them the chance to slot the ball into an open net. 0-2
A plethora of substitutions were made during the second half in an attempt to positively impact the game. Although, the desired effect didn’t occur, and the home side were handed with their first league defeat of 2023.
