9 February 2023

MK Dons Sport & Education Trust have been granted with an official license, awarded by the FA, to operate an Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) for girls within the Milton Keynes community, who are interested in football.

This will be the SET’s first year running this programme, which has already seen many successes elsewhere. However, due to the popular demand, these sessions have already reached the maximum capacity of participants.

MK Dons Women’s First Team player Rhianne Rush commented “It’s amazing to see so many girls who are keen to advance their footballing ability.”

This programme is aimed to support the young female footballer’s transition from participation to a higher level, which could see them with the possible opportunity to represent the MK Dons Women First Team.

The MK Dons SET Emerging Talent Centre has recently gained a sponsor in ‘Concept Clean’, who are a company based in Milton Keynes that share a passion in supporting Women and girls’ football within the new city.

This sponsorship has allowed the young players to be gifted their own ETC kit. ‘Concept Clean’ wanted to swiftly contribute to the programme and make a positive impact on the transition for the young players, who will start progressing within a new environment.

The ETC programme enables coaches to focus on the individual needs of each participant and their sessions cater to the four corners of a player’s development, technical, physical, psychological, and social.
