Mark Jackson was full of praise for his MK Dons side after they delivered the ideal away performance to beat Bristol Rovers 2-0 at the Memorial Stadium.

Jackson’s men made it back-to-back victories on the road thanks to goals in each half from Mo Eisa and substitute Max Dean – Eisa’s coming from the penalty spot after just three minutes with Dean then sealing the points in the final seconds of regulation time.

Reflecting on the result, and the display, the MK Dons Head Coach said: “As away performances go, it was as good as we can expect.

“We've been in a difficult position after the last two games. We challenged (the players) to see out the difficult moments better and then, when we get into those good positions, show composure - we executed that!

“We were up against a good team today - a strong team who imposed a lot of attacking threat - but we showed tactical understanding, we neutralised their threats and when we won the ball, we counter-attacked. We brought a real physicality to the game as well.

“The early goal calmed it down for us and it was great for Mo. I sat with him (on Friday) and went through his videos, and the chances he missed in the last game. I told him I'd be more worried if he wasn't even getting those chances but he showed such an air of confidence in the meeting to tell me that he was ready to go and he showed great composure to stick that penalty away.

“And then Max Dean came on and scored. I know what he can do - Max Dean will score goals.”

Jackson added: “If we believe in the approach, and the way we want to behave on the pitch, then things will come good. Hopefully the boys will have seen what is possible now.

“Once we push through that barrier, it can only catapult us on.”
