Graham Alexander says MK Dons are working hard to bolster their squad ahead of Friday’s deadline.
Clubs in England have until 11pm on Friday to complete their transfer business before the window slams shut until January.
The Dons have recruited seven fresh faces to their group this summer but Head Coach Alexander is hopeful of adding to that total before the week is out.
“We are working hard,” Alexander said in his post-match press conference following Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Doncaster Rovers – a result which took them to the top of the Sky Bet League Two table.
“When it gets to a Friday and Saturday, everyone is getting on with the games and I don't ask Liam (Sweeting) and the Chairman for the latest when I'm preparing either. We'll pick that up now the game is over.”
“The clock is ticking, and we need reinforcements in the team without a doubt, but we're all on the same page. We know what we need and want to do and fingers crossed we get what we need in the next week.”
Alexander added: “Whichever player or players we try to bring in is going to be joining a good group. I'm delighted with what I've got here so far - we've asked a lot of them and, although it took a bit of time in pre-season, they're getting their rewards for it now.”
