Young Dons seek fourth straight league success…

21 April 2023

Following their EFL Youth Alliance Cup Final victory, MK Dons Under-18s now turn their attention back to the Merit League Two Division as they search for their fourth consecutive league win.

John Bitting’s boys have been filled with confidence in their recent four fixtures, which has seen the Milton Keynes side claim the spoils from each battle.

Not only did the young Dons conjure a three-game winning streak within the league, but they also had the honour to lift the EFL Youth Alliance Cup after their 2-0 triumph over Rotherham United at Stadium MK.

MK Dons’ EFL Youth Alliance Cup champions now turn their attention to the O’s in the hope that they can continue their winning ways.

THE OPPOSITION

Leyton Orient, the hosts of Saturday’s league clash, have only found success once during their current EFL Youth Alliance Merit League Two stint. However, the second most draws within the division (3) has amounted a total of six points to place the home side eighth.

Following a heavy 6-0 defeat to the hands of Exeter City, Orient will be seeking redemption as they welcome John Bitting’s boys to London.

LAST TIME OUT

The previous fixture for MK Dons Under-18s saw them crowned as the EFL Youth Alliance National Cup champions, the first time this trophy has been based at Stadium MK since the start of the tournament.

Blennerhassett’s brace accompanied by a clean-sheet from the young Dons secured a 2-0 victory over Rotherham United. An obviously elated team celebrated lifting the trophy, but now their attention must swiftly turn back to the league competition.
