Loan round-up: Jack Davies heads home his first for the Hoops

Jack Davies heads home his first goal for Oxford City whilst Joel Anker secures a late point against the former league leaders.

Jack Davies was named in Oxford City’s starting XI to face Tonbridge in a National League South clash. Hoops teammate Klaidi Lolos scored the opener before Davies doubled the lead with a powerful header that looped over the Tonbridge ‘keeper.

This marked the young defender’s first goal for Oxford City, which helped to secure a vital three points as they push for second place within the league table.

Joel Anker ensured that AFC Rushden & Diamonds claimed a point from their league skirmish against the former leaders Tamworth. A late counter-attack produced from Anker granted him the opportunity to gain the lead late in the fixture.

Although, Tamworth responded moments after and salvaged a point against the side placed at the bottom of the league. Charlie Waller also started within this match and supported the travelling team to their fourth consecutive result.

Dan Kemp featured in Hartlepool’s Sky Bet League Two fixture against Swindon Town, which produced late drama for the side battling relegation.

Kemp supported the Pool for 84 minutes before being substituted off in place of Oliver Finney, who scored a last-minute winner within injury time to secure all three points against Swindon.

Matt Dennis has sustained an injury – thus, he has been side-lined from Sutton United’s recent fixtures.

Bedford Town’s recent scheduled fixture versus Basford United was postponed. Junior and Dani Lucas will now prepare to face United on Tuesday April 18.

Lancing suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat whilst Tommy Blennerhassett made his second start for the club. Blennerhassett, as well as Lancing will look to bounce back at home against Chatham Town.

Liam Mann featured for the final 30 minutes during Tring Athletics 3-2 victory over Ardley United. Athletic will seek to continue this form as they prepare for a mid-week clash against Hoddesdon Town at Cow Lane.
