Hat-trick hero Dan Kemp helps Hartlepool United escape the drop zone, Matt Dennis makes his return to the field for Sutton United and Joel Anker’s goal contributions secure back-to-back victories for AFC Rushden & Diamonds.

Dan Kemp achieved his first career hat-trick as Hartlepool bested Grimsby Town 4-1, a victory which saw the Pool rise above the relegation zone.

Kemp’s goal within the first half was later cancelled out by Grimsby within the early stages of the second 45 minutes. Although, this didn’t faze the inform loanee, whose spot-kick and his second finish from inside the box awarded the number 40 with his first career hat-trick.

Following Good Friday’s success, Hartlepool United then welcomed Stevenage to the Victoria Park Stadium for an Easter Monday clash. Kemp’s assist for Nicky Featherstone’s equaliser ensured that United currently place a point above the relegation zone with five fixtures remaining.

Matt Dennis recently suffered a slight injury which saw the striker side-lined for a few weeks. Dennis returned to the field on Easter Monday when Matt Gray substituted the MK Dons loanee onto the field just ahead of the hour-mark.

Sutton United suffered a 3-1 defeat, but they will look to bounce-back against Northampton Town on Saturday.

Although they’re placed second bottom of the Southern Central Premier Division table, AFC Rushden & Diamonds have recently conjured a six-game unbeaten streak. Joel Anker’s goalscoring antics have seen him locate the net three times over two matches.

Anker had produced a brace to secure all three points in their Good Friday league clash. This result was followed days later with another league win over Bedford Town. Once again, Anker made his way onto the scoresheet during their 4-1 triumph over Bedford Town. Charlie Waller wasn’t named in the squad for either game.

Tommy Blennerhassett started in back-to-back games over the Easter weekend. The young striker’s header on-the-end of a corner gained Lancing a point in their league clash against Littlehampton Town, which made up for their Good Friday defeat against Chatham Town.

Over the Easter weekend, Bedford Town suffered back-to-back defeats. Edward Gyamfi featured off the bench during both fixtures, which saw him face his fellow MK Dons loanee Joel Anker in the Eagle’s league clash versus the Diamonds.

Junior alongside Bedford Town will look to end their losing streak against St Ives Town as they enter their final three fixtures of the 2021/22 campaign. Dani Lucas is yet to feature for the Eagles.

Liam Mann made an appearance of the bench in Tring Athletic’s narrow 3-2 defeat to London Colney, the young Dons defender was named within the Easter Monday squad, but he didn’t make the field in Athletic’s Easter Monday victory over Leverstock Green.
