MK Dons are relishing the opportunity to test themselves against another play-off contender this afternoon, as they bid to extend their unbeaten run to six games against Derby County.
Mark Jackson’s men travel to Pride Park Stadium today for their third successive game against a team with aspirations of finishing in the top six come the end of the season.
The Dons have already taken points off Wycombe Wanderers and Portsmouth and will look to do the same against Derby on Monday, as they continue their push to secure Sky Bet League One football for next term.
“It's a test we're looking forward to,” Head Coach Mark Jackson said when previewing this afternoon’s game in the aftermath of his side’s draw with Portsmouth.
“It'll be a tough game going to Derby, they're pushing at the top end of the table, but we've got our own agenda and reasons we need the points for. We'll be going there ready.
“We're taking good form into the game. We know we can go and compete if we're on our game. We'll go there with confidence, but we have to have the mindset to go there and compete.”
Defender Jack Tucker echoed his Head Coach’s sentiments, telling the media: “It'll be another tough test. It's a great stadium to go and play in, there are a lot of good players there and it's a massive club.
“It will be a really tough test but we'll fancy our chances. We'll have a game plan and we’ll try to execute it - hopefully it will be enough to bring home three points.”
