John Bitting’s boys bested Leyton Orient, which awarded the Dons with back-to-back wins at home.
MK Dons have won four out of their five league fixtures, which currently holds them in second place within the EFL Youth Alliance League table. Three points separates the Dons and the top-spot.
The O’s had opened up the scoring, 20 minutes after the first whistle. A mistake at the back allowed the away side to grab an early lead.
Charlie Waller ran the full-length of the pitch, which allowed him to receive the ball in-behind the O’s defence. The number six then played the ball across to Tommy Blennerhassett, who scored the equaliser in the 53rd minute.
The travelling team thought they had re-gained the lead, but their celebrations were cut short, due to an offside offence in the build-up to the goal.
Even though the Dons were a goal behind, they continued to display their character and determination, which allowed them to gain the advantage late on in the game.
Blennerhassett involved again, but this time the number nine was the facilitator in Ed Daffern’s late goal. John Bitting’s boys continued to battle and display their resilience, which allowed Daffern to score winning goal on the 83rd minute-mark.
A 2-1 win over the O’s at home allowed MK Dons to claim back-to-back victories, as well as ascend to second-place within the league table.
