Charlie Bill’s Women return to FAWNL action, having not played a league fixture since the start of October.
Although MK Dons Women haven’t played a league game since October 2, they have been keeping busy within the Berks & Bucks Senior cup competition.
Now, the Dons return their focus towards the league. Having not played a FAWNL fixture for three weeks, the team has dropped to ninth within the league table, but a victory on Sunday could see the team ascend multiple positions.
THE OPPOSITION
Ipswich Town currently find themselves fourth in the league after a successful start to their 2022/23 campaign. At the moment, the hosts have a 50%-win record after claiming three victories from their opening six games.
The Tractor Girls have amounted a total of ten points so far, three ahead of MK Dons. However, if Charlie Bill’s Women were to win this weekend, they would rise above the home side due to goal difference.
LAST TIME OUT
During their Women's Senior Cup campaign, MK Dons put on an impressive display, which rewarded the team with a convincing victory over Penn & Tyler’s Women.
After 90 minutes of play, the match concluded at 17-0 in favour of Charlie Bill’s Women, who had set one of the highest goalscoring records in the club’s history.
This win allowed the Dons to advance into the semi-final round of the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup, one step closer to the chance of achieving silverware.
After three consecutive wins, Ipswich Town settled for a point away to Oxford United. The Blues travelled to Oxford for their FAWNL League fixture, which resulted in a 1-1 draw.
The home side remain unbeaten in their previous four matches, but MK Dons will look to put an end to that streak on Sunday afternoon, Kick-off 2:00pm.
