Warren O’Hora says the players must take responsibility for the recent form and that it’s on the squad, collectively and individually, to improve and start putting points on the board.
The Dons fell to successive Sky Bet League One defeats with a 2-1 reverse at Shrewsbury Town on Saturday – a game in which the damage was done in the first half, with the hosts scoring twice before the break to, ultimately, secure all three points.
Reflecting on the game, the recent form and what needs to happen for an improvement, O’Hora said: “There have been a few honest words said which is definitely needed.
“The management team have been unbelievable for us and they’ve given us every inch of themselves. This is nothing to do with them – this is on the players, every single one of us,.
“We need to be honest with each other because we’re much better than this. We need believes in ourselves more - you make your own luck, your own confidence. Some of the lads need that belief to deliver what they’ve been put in the team to do.”
O’Hora added: “We will go into Tuesday and use the experiences from Shrewsbury to hopefully kick-start our season and get us going up the table. It’s never easy going through the lows of football, it’s something for us to learn from and improve from.”
MK Dons will look to bounce back on Tuesday evening when they take on Bristol Rovers at Stadium MK.
