Harvie: Stick together and work hard

Daniel Harvie shared his thoughts after suffering defeat at Stadium MK…

3 October 2022

Daniel Harvie spoke with the press and shared his post-match thoughts after a 3-2 defeat to Peterborough United at Stadium MK.

The number 21 said that although it was a ‘tough game’ against the former Championship side, it was ‘disappointing’ to suffer defeat.

When questioned about the fixture, Harvie said “It was tough but conceding inside the first few minutes is not the way you want to start a game.

“Me and Matt (Smith) scoring late on doesn’t mean much because ultimately, we lost the match. We can talk a good game, but we must show that on the pitch.

“I’m happy that I scored, but we’ve got a lot of work to do. We’ll stick together and work hard. Fortunately, there’s matches coming thick and fast this month so Tuesday gives us a chance to right the wrongs.”

The Scottish wing-back suffered an injury late last season, which saw the number 21 ruled out of the 2022/23 pre-season training.

Harvie was subbed on against Accrington Stanley at home, but he made his return to the starting eleven in a 2-0 victory over Watford within the Carabao Cup competition. when asked about his return, the full-back had this to say:

“My fitness is a bit behind the rest of the boys because I missed out on pre-season, so I’m trying to get back to match fitness and I think it’s going well. Each 90 minutes is another box ticked off.”
