MK Dons suffer defeat at home…

29 November 2022

MK Dons Under-18s fall in the EFL Youth Alliance League table after a defeat at home to Gillingham.

A 4-1 victory in favour of the travelling side saw John Bitting’s boys drop two positions, which has currently placed them fifth within the league table, behind Gillingham and Sutton United.

John Bitting made multiple changes from his side’s previous encounter within the FA Youth Cup. Kyle Boyce, Dani Lucas, Isaac Olaleye and Charlie Stirland were all introduced into the starting XI.

After their FA Youth Cup disappointment, MK Dons looked to bounce-back within their league campaign and fight for their top-three placement. However, an in-form Gills side ensured that they surpassed the hosts.

A comfortable three-goal advantage allowed Gillingham to rise above the young Dons in the league. An uncommon display from John BItting’s boys, which the travelling team took full advantage of.

Although Callum Tripp scored from Phoenix Scholtz’ assist, it seemed merely a consolation from a defeat that the team will look to redeem themselves on in their next league skirmish against Sutton United, who currently have a one-point gap on MK Dons.
