Twine: Buzzing with the win

Scott Twine reflected on MK Dons' 2-0 win against Bolton...

2 March 2022

Scott Twine spoke with iFollow MK Dons on the back of Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers at Stadium MK…

Twine increased his goal tally to 14 this season after contributing alongside teammate Mo Eisa in the win over the Trotters.

Three points claimed means that the Dons are now level on points with Wigan Athletic, the only deciding factor between the second and third placed teams being their goal difference.

When questioned about the result, Twine had this to say: “I’m buzzing with the win and on a personal note, I’m happy with the goal. I haven’t scored in a while, so it was nice to be on the scoresheet today.

“We started the game really well; we could’ve been two or three up, but their keeper made a couple of good saves to prevent that. Mo Eisa’s opening goal was important for the rest of the game.”

Whilst being “buzzing with the win” the number nine referred to Liam Manning’s philosophy of not getting carried away, saying: “The manager has repeated it loads of times this season. When we win, we don’t get too high and when we lose, we don’t get too low.

“It’s a good place to be at, because we’re confident but not overconfident. We’re going into every game wanting to win and thankfully we’re doing just that.”

Twine then discussed his thoughts behind his 14th goal of the season, having this to say about his finish:

“I was thinking just to let the ball run across my body and then try and shoot it through the defender’s legs.

“I think it may have taken a deflection as it went through, nevertheless I’m buzzing with that goal.”

Having not scored at Stadium MK since November, the number nine was excited to be able to celebrate with the home fans once again, adding: “Their support is constantly brilliant. It’s always a great feeling to get a goal in front of the home crowd.”

Finally, looking towards this weekend’s clash against Rotherham United, Twine commented: “There are no easy games in this league but we will prepare for Rotherham as we have with every team so far and hopefully we will go there and claim three points”
