The former Coventry City defender joined the Dons as a free agent last week, bolstering Liam Manning’s defensive options.
When questioned about his transfer to MK Dons, Mason said: “I’m over the moon to get this deal done. I’m excited about the opportunity and I’m happy to get the deal done.
“Coming into the dressing room I instantly knew that this is somewhere that I want to play - it’s positives all-round.
“The best thing that I’ve seen so far is the team cohesion and the togetherness. If we are going to go on and achieve anything it’s important that we all stick together.”
Mason also gave an insight into the conversation he had with Liam Manning prior to signing the deal, adding: “Liam Manning said to me that he really likes my character and the things that I can contribute and add to the team - it was a great conversation.”
Mason appeared twice for Watford during their 2016/2017 Premier League campaign, facing both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City, while he also contributed 11 games to Coventry’s 2019/2020 League One success, the season in which they were crowned champions.
When asked how he will positively impact this MK Dons side, Mason responded: “I’m a tenacious full-back, so I like to get up and down the pitch and I like a tackle as well.
“What you will get from me is that I will get stuck in, I will always give my best as well as give contributions going forward too. I’m someone that you can rely on, for sure.”
Mason was also asked about how his recent time out of the game has impacted him, to which he answered: “Being outside of the game you get a different insight as to what’s going on.
“During my time out of the game I have learnt a lot about myself and how I can improve. I have worked on areas in my game, which I’m ready to express when I get on the pitch.”
