Dons celebrate International Women's Day

To celebrate Internationals Women’s Day, MK Dons will be dedicating tonight’s MKFM Pre-Match Show to the event.

This evening's Sky Bet League One fixture with Cheltenham Town will provide the opportunity to highlight the work of the Football Club and the Sport and Education Trust in providing opportunities for women in football.

Central to this, is the MK Dons Women’s team, who currently compete in the third tier of the Women’s football and are one of the only teams who currently play their home matches in the same stadium as the Men’s team.

MK Dons Women’s manager Charlie Bill shared his thoughts with on the events taking place and the development of Women’s football, saying: “I first started coaching eight or nine years ago in the women’s game and the growth within that short space of time has been massive.

“I think the growth on the women’s game has been fantastic days like International Women’s Day and campaigns such as Her Game Too are so important to us and the many female footballers wanting to get involved with the sport, whether it be competitively or just for their own entertainment.”

On Tuesday, the Club will also be reaffirming its support of the Her Game Too initiative and their message that Football Is A Game For All.

During the MKFM Pre-Match Show, Season Ticket holders and Supporter Liaison Officers, Aiden and Louise, will be talking on the importance of our Her Game Too partnership and why it means so much to them and the Club.

The pre-match show will run from 6.30pm and 7.30pm ahead of Tuesday’s 7.45pm kick-off.
