Darling: Hopefully this run continues

2 March 2022

Harry Darling discusses his thoughts with iFollow MK Dons, ahead of this Saturday’s upcoming Sky Bet League One fixture against Rotherham United…

After helping the Dons to a 2-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers, Darling was quick to turn focus towards this weekend’s fixture, in which the Dons face a Rotherham side who are seven points clear at the top of Sky Bet League One.

Avoiding defeat at the AESSEAL New York Stadium would result in 10 consecutive away games without a loss for Liam Manning’s men, while a win could also see them move back level on points with the automatic promotion places.

Ahead of the upcoming match, the MK Dons number six said: “It was a big win for us on Saturday and we know that, but we can’t get ahead of ourselves. We have said it many times, we will take it game by game and hopefully this run continues.”

Harry then shifted focus to the benefit of the support that the Dons have been receiving from fans, saying: “The fans have been brilliant all season, they really get behind us which helps us a lot throughout the games we play”

Darling also gave his thoughts on the recent win over Bolton at Stadium MK, congratulating the defensive efforts from the Dons: “We have shown a lot more defensive skill recently. We have kept a lot of clean sheets and hopefully we can carry on building.”

The centre-back was also involved at the top end of the pitch, as he played a crucial part in the opening goal on Saturday.

“Sharing his thoughts about his involvement, Darling expressed: “I just thought why not, why not let one fly? I haven’t taken many shooting opportunities this year, so when I saw the opening I thought, why not?

“Fortunately, Mo Eisa got his goal. I want to take it as my assist but whether I get it or not is a different story.”
