MK Dons Women are delighted to announce the permanent signing of 21-year-old central midfield player Gemma Biggadike from Watford Women.
Biggadike returns to the Club after a successful loan spell last season where her performances helped the club retain Tier 3 league status. The defensive midfielder becomes the Club's second signing of the summer.
On re-signing with the Dons, Biggadike said: "I'm delighted to make my move permanent with the Club. It's an environment that has allowed me to fall back in love with football and I'm excited to be a part of the club's future journey.
"The talent and desire shown by everyone to finish last season how we did is something I am very eager to build upon as we look to achieve something special as a team this year."
Head Coach Charlie Bill added: "Gemma played a huge role when coming in for the second half of the season. She showed real leadership qualities to help support the players during some difficult moments in the season.
"She understood her position responsibilities superbly, both in and out of possession, which gave us real balance in central midfield. She built up her confidence and the love of the game once again whilst playing here and we know she is going to be a big figure for us this season."
Jack Sharp, MK Dons Women's Head of Football & Performance, said: "Gem's influence on the team last season provided a much-needed balance to our midfield, giving us a platform to be more adventurous in possession.
"The football experiences she has already attained at 21 years of age allow her to play with a level of maturity not seen in many players of her age."
Sharp added: "We are delighted that before pre-season starts, we can welcome two vital players back to the Club in Gemma and Lucy Wood'. Our attention now turns to external recruitment, where we hope to share some exciting news on new players shortly."
