Lawrence: Roll on the season

Henry Lawrence discussed his transfer with iFollow MK Dons…

25 July 2022

Henry Lawrence spoke to iFollow MK Dons about his loan move to Stadium MK from  parent club Chelsea.

The young full-back joined the Blues' Academy as an Under-9 and progressed through their academy until he made his debut for the development squad, during the 2019/2020 season. At 19, Lawrence was offered a new contract which sealed him as a Chelsea player until the summer of 2023.

Lawrence has made 32 appearances and has gathered experience within Sky Bet League One thanks to his loan move to AFC Wimbledon during 2021/2022 campaign.

When questioned about his move to MK Dons, Lawrence had this to say: “I’m very pleased and I’m looking forward to the season ahead, MK Dons did really well last year and I’m looking forward to continuing that with them this season.

“I was very pleased to get here before the season starts because it gives me an opportunity to get to know the team. Being at Stadium MK this season can only be a good thing, hopefully it’s a successful year for everyone.”

The young Lion scored on his international debut with England under-19s, in a 4-2 victory against Belgium in October 2019. To finalise the interview, Lawrence was asked about the type of player he is, as well as his excitement to play at Stadium MK, he replied: “I love attacking, getting up and down the field.

“Everyone loves to get goal contributions and hopefully I can add that this year, I can’t wait to play at Stadium MK. Every young player wants to play in a big stadium and have that pressure on them to show what they’re capable of.

“Every time you get out there you must play to your best, hopefully we’ll have a lot of good results together and it’ll be a successful season which gets us into the Championship. I can’t wait to get started, roll on the season now.”
