Dawson Devoy says he can’t wait to get started as an MK Dons player after completing his long-awaited move to Stadium MK.
The Irish attacker has signed for an undisclosed fee from Bohemian FC, a club which the player has served for five years. Devoy contributed a total of ten goals for Bohs, eight of which have been scored this season.
The former Bohemians player also made his debut for the Ireland Under-21s national team against Luxembourg during the 2023 Under-21s UEFA qualifiers.
When questioned about the first transfer of his career, Devoy responded: “I’m delighted, it’s been a long time coming and I’m really happy to get the deal done.
“It was big news when MK Dons were interested in me, I’m excited to see where I can go, and I’m delighted to sign here. I’m looking forward to getting started.
“I think that this is the right place for me to go to the next level and I’m looking forward to getting some games under my belt.
“I know a few of the lads, and it helps to see some familiar faces but Darragh Burns told me that the group are really close so I’m looking forward to getting involved with them.
“I watched all of the games last year and the team just missed out on promotion. It’s a young group, but it’s a good group that looks like they’re going places. The stadium is unbelievable too, so I can’t wait to get going.”
The attacking midfielder has already played 22 matches during the current League of Ireland campaign while amounting a total of ten goal contributions. When asked about what type of player the Dons fans can expect to see, Devoy replied:
“I like getting on the ball and trying to make things happen, as well as hopefully getting a few goals and assists. I can’t wait to play in front of the fans, within an unbelievable stadium.”
