Louie Barry says he went with his gut feeling when deciding which Club to join this summer.
The young attacker has signed on a season-long loan from Aston Villa.
Barry, who was the first English player to join La Masia after he signed with Barcelona in 2019 has acquired a few loan spells during his time with the Villains, prior to his Stadium MK move.
Barry expressed that ‘this is the right team’ for the next stage of his career, although the young star has had interest from various clubs, he said ‘that he went with his gut feeling’ in his decision to sign for the Dons.
In his first interview with iFollow MK Dons, the former Villa forward was questioned about his transfer, Barry had this to say: “Liam Manning sold it to me.
“Players have really blossomed under Liam Manning, and MK Dons’ style of play suits me, which will help me a lot. I’m really excited and I can’t wait to get started.
“My main goal is to help the team, but selfishly I do want to increase my numbers and get plenty of goals and assists, if I get one or two chances, I will finish them and I believe that this team will really help me to achieve that.”
Kaine Kesler-Hayden, who last season was on loan at MK Dons, helped ‘paint a picture’ for his Villa teammate, before he signed with the Club. Kesler-Hayden told Barry that ‘Liam Manning helped him a lot’ within his three-month period.
The Dons continue to prepare for the first game of the season, with two pre-season fixtures left to play. When questioned about his excitement to join the squad for the upcoming campaign, Barry said:
“I’m really excited, I want to get a few games under my belt and I’m here to enjoy playing football in front of the fans. I feel like we can achieve promotion this season and I want to help the team do that, I can’t wait to get started.”
