MK Dons Under-18s players Joel Anker and Charlie Waller both scored to secure victory, Brooklyn Ilunga provided an assist for Hemel, Junior claimed his fifth start for Bedford Town and Ronnie Sandford starts for Hertford.

Charlie Waller and Joel Anker both started for Tring Athletic in their first game of 2023 against London Colney. The young Dons duo both placed their names on the scoresheet and secured a 3-1 victory over their opponents.

Anker found the ball at his feet within the box before he rifled an unstoppable shot into the top-corner of the net, which opened the scoring. Waller then joined his Athletic teammate on the scoresheet after his header on the end of a corner bounced past the Colney keeper’.

Hemel Hempstead suffered a New Year’s Day defeat, despite Brooklyn Ilunga’s assist for the opening goal. The number 11 had flicked on a free-kick into a dangerous area, where his teammate was located to tap-in the first goal of the fixture.

Although they broke the deadlock, the Tudors suffered a defeat after they conceded two goals against St Albans in their National League South fixture on the road.

Bedford Town lost their opening game of the 2023 against Royston Town, a narrow 3-2 defeat, which left the Eagles with their first loss in their previous four league games.

In the previous weekend of fixtures, 'Junior' claimed his fifth start for Bedford Town since his loan move to the club on November 22. Gyamfi has two goal contributions within the six appearances he has made so far.

Ronnie Sandford started for Hertford Town in their 3-1 defeat against Hadley. The young goalkeeper was beaten by a penalty at the start of the match, followed by another set-piece goal before Hadley made it three. However, the score-line didn't dishearten Sandford, who made a brilliant stop within the dying moments of the match to sustain the two-goal defecit.

The Blues currently place 15 in the league table and look to abolish their three-game loss streak as they prepare for the next test against AFC Dunstable.
