Head Coach Mark Jackson reflects on his side's goalless draw with Lincoln City...

Mark Jackson was frustrated not to pick up three points in Saturday’s Sky Bet League One clash with Lincoln City but believed elements of the performance provide optimism for the future.

MK Dons were held to a goalless draw by Lincoln – a result which keeps them inside the bottom four but does move them to within two points of safety. They also made it four points from their first two home matches under Jackson.

Reflecting on the result and the display, the MK Dons Head Coach said: “I was happy with elements of the performance and we have to be pleased, to some extent with the point, but obviously at home we want to win and we have to push for three (points) in games now.

“I felt we tried to take the game to the opposition. Lincoln came to frustrate us a bit but we pushed right to the end and we kept knocking on the door.

“In the first half, I felt we had a lot of the ball but we needed to move possession further up the pitch, and control the tempo more. I felt we did that more in the second half.

“Out of possession, we looked really good. We won it back quickly, stifled them, limited them to few chances and we defended set-pieces well.

“I was pleased with a lot of the aspects of the game today, but, as always, there will be areas to identify and develop so we can start to build on the strengths we've shown.”

Jackson was forced into making several changes to his side due to injuries to Warren O’Hora, Ethan Robson and Nathan Holland. While too early to tell the severity of each issue, the Head Coach is keeping his fingers crossed.

“We'll assess them and see how they go. I will always try and stay positive but it was clear they all needed to come off.

“Losing those players limited us, which wasn't ideal, but we have to deal with these situations and we tried to do it by keeping an attacking threat on the field. I also thought Zak (Jules) came in and did fantastically well alongside Jack (Tucker).”
