Loan watch: Johnson scores first Banbury goal

Three loanees in Bank Holiday action...

6 January 2022

Lewis Johnson scored his first goal for Banbury United as they beat Redditch United for their seventh straight win.

Johnson, making only his second league start for the Puritans, headed home a Ben Acquaye cross in the final minute of regulation time to seal victory for his side, who are now 13 points clear at the top of the Southern League Premier Central.

Tali Jallow was involved in Redditch’s matchday squad, having joined the Worcestershire side on work experience.

Meanwhile, Laurie Walker helped Aldershot Town to a dramatic 3-2 win over Woking in the final game of his loan spell with the Shots.

Walker played his part as the Hampshire outfit twice fought back from a goal down, scoring two late goals to seal an important away victory. He returns to Stadium MK having made 10 appearances.

In the National League South, Jack Davies played 90 minutes as Oxford City drew 2-2 with Slough Town. The Hoops are now two points adrift of first-placed Maidstone United.
