Dream debut for Franco

13 January 2022

Franco Ravizzoli thanked the MK Dons supporters for their support prior to, and during, his memorable EFL debut on Tuesday night at Stadium MK.

Ravizzoli, who joined the Club this summer, was handed his first professional league appearance for the clash with AFC Wimbledon and the Argentine marked the occasion by keeping a clean sheet and helping the Dons to a 1-0 victory over their rivals.

“It couldn't be better than this,” Ravizzoli said afterwards to iFollow MK Dons. “I've been waiting for this opportunity for a long time and it's a big game too - I know it was my chance and I had to take it.

“I've worked hard, supporting the team, waiting for this opportunity. As a keeper, you need to be strong mentally. You don't always play that much but that's the job - you need to keep working hard, support the team and wait for your opportunity.

“I have to give a lot of credit to Lewis Price. After my games in Papa John's Trophy, we've looked at the clips to improve my positioning or my decision making. I felt I have been improving game-by-game and that's down to the work we put in every day.

“I also want to thank the fans. When they found out I was playing yesterday I got so many messages supporting me. They were so good to us tonight too - we wanted to give the fans the win.

“It was so important to win, for the club and the fans. We spoke to the chairman yesterday to understand how important it is. The team did really well , we defended well and we take the win and move on.”
