Loan watch: Jules makes fifth straight start

7 February 2022

Zak Jules made his fifth straight start for Fleetwood Town in their 1-1 draw with Shrewsbury Town.

Jules, who has been ever present for the Cod Army since joining them on loan, helped the Fylde coast club earn a share of the spoils in an important fixture in the fight to avoid relegation from Sky Bet League One.

Fleetwood remain two points clear of the bottom four ahead of the visit of MK Dons to Highbury Stadium on Tuesday evening. Jules, of course, won’t be involved in the fixture due to the terms of his loan.

Elsewhere, Lewis Johnson was an unused substitute for Banbury United in their 1-1 draw with Bomsgrove Sporting.

The Puritans, who travel to Leiston Town this weekend, are currently 14 points clear at the top of the Southern League Premier Division central.

Scholar Edward Gyamfi made his first start for Hertford Town in their Southern League Division One Central clash with Berkhamsted.

Gyamfi, who is on work experience with the Blues, played the full 90 minutes as Hertford went down 2-1 to the title contenders.
